Long, drawn-out compliment for IPT

It's kind of embarrassing -- tootin' your own horn, so to speak. But the "thank you" was so sweet. And there was a whole bunch of effort in it, too. That's why we're featuring the photo today of those really wonderful Optimist Football cheerleaders and advisors and their self-explanatory banner.

Here's the story: "I am the Cheer Coordinator for the Nampa Optimist Football program and have served as cheer advisor for the past few years," Carrie Clark wrote. "And I have always picked up my banner paper from the Idaho Press-Tribune for $3 a roll.

"This year I decided I wanted to equip all of our cheer advisors with their own supply of banner paper. So I called the IP-T and told them my story. I was put on hold for a few minutes and then a lady picked-up and told me that the newspaper would donate ALL the banner paper for the program -- 20 rolls!

"We just wanted to thank the Idaho Press-Tribune for its kindness and generosity!"

... Guess all that's left to say then is "You're welcome!"

And if you love seeing youth football, I happen to know where there will be some great games played. Try the Nampa Optimist Park on Saturdays from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
