Optimist Football

NAMPA -- Nampa Optimist Youth Football is set for its second season, and there
will be informational meetings for anyone interested in playing or being
involved with the league on the third Tuesday of the month at Pioneer Title of
Nampa (100 10th Ave. South) at 7 p.m.

Sign-ups will be May 10 from 6-8 p.m., May 12 from 10 a.m. to noon, and May 15
from 6-8 p.m. at West Junior High on Midland Blvd., in Nampa. A valid birth
certificate is required for proof of age. Cost is $45 per player, and insurance
is available.

Teams consist of 7- and 8-year-olds playing flag football, and 9-, 10-, 11-

and 12-year-olds playing tackle, with separate age and weight division for
each. Team size is limited to ensure all players play. All elementary schools
will be represented.

There will be a season kick-off Jamboree at BSU’s Bronco Stadium on the blue
turf. Each team will play five home games and two away games, as there are
teams from Hailey, McCall, Kuna, Boise, Meridian, Horseshoe Bend and Mountain
