Nampa Optimist Football

NAMPA -- Optimist Football has come to Nampa for its inaugural year, which kicks off on Thursday, May 4 with sign-ups. The first sign-up is from 6-8 p.m., with sign-ups continuing May 6 from 10 a.m. to noon and concluding on May 9 from 6-8 p.m.

Sign-ups will be held at West Middle School at 806 Central Midland Blvd. in the gym parking lot. The registration fee is $45, which includes a jersey, helmet and shoulder pads. Players need to be present at sign-up so their sizes can he taken.

The first season will be limited to 10 teams, with four in the flag football division, two 9-year old tackle teams, two 10-year old tackle teams, and one each 11-year old and 12-year-old tackle team.

Teams will play seven games and compete with teams from Boise, Meridian, Emmett, Horseshoe Bend, McCall, Kuna, Idaho City, Mountain Home and Hailey.
